    Is this the course for you?
    Managers are responsible for running organisations, departments and teams in all kinds of sectors from entertainment to health and from international business to local shops.
    This course offers a general business focus and the development of foundational business competencies for the first two years. Second year also provides the opportunity for studying abroad in Europe or America (Boston) at one of our partner institutions for one semester. Many of our partner institutions in Europe provide their lectures in English.
    In the third year of the programme the focus is twofold: firstly, towards developing advanced business competencies specialising in the field of management and secondly supporting the transition to the workplace and employment.  The final year includes the development of personal and professional employment skills and gives an opportunity to choose between three applied learning options which further support building the connection with real world learning.
    So if organising people, places, activities and resources sounds right for you, then this course is for you..

    Programme aims:
    Development of the programme is underpinned by the following core concepts:
    • To provide a broad, analytical and highly integrated study of business organisations (profit and non-profit), their management and the changing external environment and society in which they operate. This can be characterised from three perspectives;
      • Business Organisations - encompassing the internal aspects, functions and processes of organisations including their diverse purposes and structures together with the individual and corporate behaviours and cultures which exist within and between organisations and their influence upon the external environment.
      • External environment – which encompasses a wide range of factors, including economic, environmental, ethical, legal, political, sociological and technological, together with their effects at local, national and international levels upon the strategy, behaviour, management and sustainability of organisations.
      • Management – encompassing  the range of business management disciplines necessary for the effective management of and/or participation in a business organisation. These include areas such as business strategy, change management, operations and service management, project management, legal and regulatory environment, marketing management, human resource management, decision making, economics, financial management and organisational behaviour. These provide a solid foundation for success in a business career.
    • 'Preparation for business' by developing of a range of specific business knowledge and professional competences relevant to graduate careers in business with the potential for further management positions.
    • Enhancement of lifelong learning skills including personal development to contribute to civic society at large. Lifelong learning skills include the development and enhancement of a range of general transferable learning, intellectual and professional skills, which, while being highly appropriate to a career in business and management, are not restricted to this. This includes the encouragement of improved self-awareness, leadership vision, positive and critical attitudes towards enterprise, change and society in general
