    With more and more companies developing an online presence, the need for professional photography of products and services is greater than ever. This two-year programme offers tuition in Product and Food photography, Motion, Portrait and Fashion photography, Photo-journalism, Sport, landscape and Documentary photography & video. 
    Minimum Academic Entry Requirements
    • MIN. FIVE O6/H7
    • ENGLISH OR IRISH O6/H7.
    Maths is not required.
    Leaving Cert Art is not required though desirable. Entry is based on Leaving Certificate or FETAC results only. There is no portfolio assessment – however, it should be noted that this is a highly creative programme and demands the artistic engagement of learners.
    Mature applicants
    Should apply via the CAO, making sure they tick the relevant boxes on pages 2 and 3 of the CAO application form.

    Having successfully completed this programme the graduate will be able to:
    • Demonstrate a specialised knowledge of the skills and tools related to Photography.
    • Recognise the development and context in the evolution of Photography.
    • Demonstrate a comprehensive range of specialised skills and tools relating to Photography.
    • Demonstrate the capacity to respond to a Photography brief giving due consideration to the requirements of the client.
    • Demonstrate an awareness of transferable skills which may be used to benefit the client / audience.
    • Demonstrate an ability to perform with competency and confidence in engaging with external stakeholders.
    • Evaluate own learning and identify needs within a structured learning environment; assist others in identifying learning needs
    • Demonstrate an ability to articulate personal opinions and the opinions of others in their approach to creative work.
    Are there follow-up Programmes Available?
    Graduates who successfully complete the Studio and Field - Audio & Video elective module in semester 4 of this programme may apply to transfer to the third year of the Bachelor of Arts in Digital Film & Video at LYIT.
    Graduates may alsoapply for advanced entry onto similar Level 8 programmes at other Institutes / Universities in Ireland and abroad.
