LYIT to host prestigious Tourism Event in 2015
11th Annual Tourism & Hospitality Research in Ireland Conference (THRIC) taking place in LYIT on 11-12 June 2015.
The School of Tourism is proud to host the 11th Annual Tourism & Hospitality Research in Ireland Conference (THRIC). The Conference will be held at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology on 11-12 June 2015. The theme for THRIC 2015 is ‘Collaborative Sustainable Development – The Way Forward for Tourism’.
The conference will offer a forum for hospitality and tourism researchers and industry professionals to present their research.
New for 2015 is the introduction of an ‘Early Research’ category for academics, postgraduate and undergraduate students who will be encouraged to submit ‘an extended abstract’ as a means of stimulating new research and emerging topics for future conference presentations.
In addition, there will be four keynote speakers who will deliver valuable insights in the four thematic areas of the conference (Food, SMEs, Sustainability and Collaboration).
For the first time, the conference will host a Pre-conference Workshop on ‘Food Tourism’ in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland and Co Donegal’s Local Enterprise Office. At this event, Food Tourism Experts will provide academics and industry representatives with insights into exciting developments in the Food Tourism area.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to Letterkenny next June. In the meantime, further details of the call for papers and conference information are available here.
