Book your place at LYIT's 'Reflect and Rejuvenate’ Symposium’ on Saturday 7 May

‌Calling all Nursing, Healthcare and Education professionals: now is the time to ‘Reflect and Rejuvenate’ by booking your place at the Department of Nursing and Health Studies reflective gathering for healthcare professionals. The symposium takes place on Saturday 7 May and the event hopes to stimulate interest in the area of mindfulness, reflective education, and research in practice. This ‘Reflect and Rejuvenate’ Symposium* is organised by LYIT, in association with the HSE, Tusla (the Child and Family Agency), and Early Childcare Education providers, and is an event not to be missed.

Dr Louise McBride, Head of Department of Nursing and Health Studies at LYIT, will provide the opening address and will welcome the fantastic array of guest speakers. Louise commented, "The Department of Nursing and Health Studies at LYIT is excited to host this prestigious event. We have had great support from our partners, namely the HSE, Early Childcare Education providers and Tusla, and we have some amazing guest speakers lined up for this event. The event begins with an address from two keynote speakers: Dr Fergus Heffernan and Professor Christopher Johns, both leading gurus in their respective fields. Following their address, Professor Paul Horan, from Trinity College Dublin, will give a reflection on nurses during the 1916 Rising. Ms Judith Foley, acting Chief Education Officer, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and Mr Michael Gallagher, Donegal Tusla, will outline future changes and challenges in their respective professions. The afternoon will include 3 themed plenary workshops running concurrently: Research & Evidence Based Oractice, Experiential Learning, and Teaching and Facilitation. Each workshop theme will stimulate the interests of our target audience."

Louise further added, "Professor Christopher Johns and Dr Fergus Heffernan are two leading guest speakers in the area of Reflective Practice and Health and Well-being respectively. They are sure to provide insightful, engaging dialogue and will get the event off to a great start".

This event will also be of great interest to students studying in the area of Nursing, Health & Social Care and Early Childcare Education.
