Extreme Engineering Show

Dragon drama at the Extreme Engineering Show

In February 2009, the Extreme Engineering Show with Scientific Sue (Sue McGrath) ran an action-packed show to a full house of Donegal school children.  The show aims to teach engineering and its importance in everyday life in an interactive way, through story telling, drama and demonstrations.  Once again the show was a big hit with the three performances packed to the gills, and the school children were enthusiastic volunteers.

Dr John Doran, Head of Department of Electronic & Mechanical Engineering LYIT was pleased with the show, "Learning has to be enjoyable and engaging; this show demonstrated how exciting and creative engineering can be and how it touches us all in our daily lives.  We hope that we have inspired the next generation to choosing engineering, a profession that is fun, challenging and rewarding.  Perhaps we’ve encouraged another James Dyson or Alexander Graham Bell?"
